vinyl wraped frame
« on: 12 March 2014, 09:35:58 am »
Hi,

I seem to remember someone vinyl wrapping their frame with that carbon wrap.  I am thinking of painting the frame but vinyl wrap might do until I get time to spray it, anyone remember who it was who did that?

I am interested in knowing how the seams looked and how well it lasted etc?

Cheers
NW

You may want to try Hydrographics instead of vinyl wrap. The seams on vinyl can let water through and peels off.

I don't like that hydro dip plus I am not going to do it with carbon look, I am just interested in the look of the seams I am thinking of doing the sections at the weld points to mask them a bit.  I have wrapped a few things and it is durable when done correctly but I have not done anything like a frame that looks like it will need a few sections.

thats the one Dead Eye cheers, just checked the pics he put up.  Thinking of painting the frame matt black (mine is the older one with the light bronze (?) colour frame) but would like to just check it out first, wrapping it should suffice as a temp measure until I get round to doing that :)  That's the theory anyway
