another quick question, do people find they get better results balancing their carbs with a long or a short spirit level?

I just use a 6 inch ruler, measuring down from the frame.

And make sure its on the centre stand

I find it more important to get a good balance of carbs, protein and veg. Don't forget a bit of chocolate and beer, food for the soul...

Tried & tested mate, I thought I'd do it at the same time as I was scrubbing in my new back tyre by holding sandpaper up to it. Kill two birds with one stone and all that.  ;)

I rub my new tyres over with wet n dry, you look less stupid doing that than going arse over tit because of the 'release agent' that's sprayed on new tyres.

I've been using oil of olay on my chain. I find it helps fight the seven signs of aging

I'm not even sure if you got the answer you were looking for - but with a question like that it's just all too easy to go off on a mini rampage hehe.

Anyway, I think the response basically adds up to 'no, don't do it'

Vegetable oil is better than nothing, but its viscosity is only about 20% of that of engine oil. Probably best not to use it on a long term basis, but it'll be better for lubricating a chain than WD40.

Being serious now, I had a mk2 Golf GTD that happily ran on Veg oil (back when it was actually cheaper than diesel), so I'd agree that veg oil is far too thin to use as chain lube.
My mrs said everywhere I went I left the smell of a chip shop.  :D

It's a doddle making your own oiler, done it a few times on my work bikes for absolutely diddly squat!

If you don't want to at the prices Scottoiler charge, it's worth looking at Loobman oilers.
Check the website out, have had one before and work fine, does the job and cheaper.
Had planned on buying one when looking to buy the Fazer, but didn't need to as the Fazer I ended up buying had a scottoiler already fitted.

Chopped onions, minced beef, and some fresh chillies, once applied on your chain and you get up to the legal speed limit, any vehicles following you will turn off at the nearest town because they can smell Nando's. :b
