Yep, those part numbers are for the heavy duty X ring chain & sprocket kit, that's why it's a bit dearer than the M&P one.

Quality. I'll get that ordered up tonight then. Don't mind paying a bit more for the good stuff (plus, its gold! :lol).

Cheers Darrsi

Mick, is 98-03 not for the Boxeye original carb bike (like mine)? And the foxeye is 02-07 (or similar)? That is the kit I got for bike anyways, so unless the rear wheel and sprocket carrier are the same on both bikes... Why don't you drop the seller a line and double check? That way if it is the wrong parts, they pay for the return  ;)

I wouldn't have thought so. Mines is an 02 anyway, and his listing does state 98-03. So if it IS the wrong parts, I won't be paying for returns anyway ;)

It's the same kit I put on my '03 over the summer, it'll fit yours just fine.

If its listed 98-03 it means its a Mk1. Your bike is not a 98-03, its an 02-07 Mk2. The seller is under no obligation to cover the cost of returns as the listing is spot on. Just so you know mate

Mk1 is a boxeye 98/01
Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03
After that is an FZ600, not an FZS600.

^^^that was my understanding as well. Mines is a mk1 facelift being the foxeye?

Anyway, it shares the same running gear anyway, so it will likely fit fine I'm sure :)

FZ6 (not FZ600) from '04.  I know, I know...it's pedantic but hey ho!   :evil

Bit confused Darrsi.
You state: Mk2 is a foxeye 02/03.
Mine is a 2002 but has the rectangular headlights, which i assume is a Mk1 boxeye?
Are the foxeye headlights the slanted ones?
In any case, would it mean that mine is a possible Mk 1/2?

yeah, mines is an 02 with the slanty headlights. 02 was the changeover year so im led to believe that both boxeyes/foxeyes were available for a time, and that there was some overlap as opposed to a clear cut stopping of one, and starting of the other.

hope that makes sense :lol

Right Mick, cheers for that mate, did cross my mind that mine was possibly a changeover model.

Yeah, as above, it just depends when the bike was first registered.
