There is another Gauge next to the rev counter... its called a speedometer.. it tells you what speed you do.. and at 10 000 rpm in first.. well you will need to look at and see...

Didn't someone have a question like this before, but it was the other way around, like how many revs would you be if you wer in 6th doing 60mph if you went 2 teeth down on the front? Something like that

But someone put up a scale like on an excel sheet to show what speed and at what rev and how many teeth up or down? That might help but I can't find the thread

My speedos wasnt working. I had a wheelie bad accident  :'(  so just wondering what sort of speed i was doing when i came off,
10, 20, 30 ???? anyone

When you say you had a "wheelie" bad accident, is that literally doing a wheelie, which would explain why there was no speedo working?
Anyway, 10K in first sounds a bit OTT to be truthful, did you flip the bike perchance?


If i had to make a random guess i s'pose i'd say around the 45mph mark, but i'm not gonna confirm that on the way to work this morning, i have a very busy day!  :\

As for 10,000 in first I'd take a guess at about 60, I shall check on my way into town for you!

On the basis that each 1000 rpm in 5th is close to 10 mph (just my observation), then a quick calculation using the gear ratios gives 42 mph.
Using Punkstig's  4500 in second = 30 mph the calculation gives 45.6 mph
Using 4500 in third = 40 mph then the calculation gives 48 mph.
Be interesting to see what the road test brings up.

If you were in 1st at 10,000 revs then its no wonder you crashed.
I wouldnt fancy doing a test for you to see as I hate to think of the SMASH from 1st to 2nd gear as at normal revs its a clunck

I didn't go mad but at about 8000rpm i was approaching 38mph then changed gear, so i wasn't too far out at 45mph, but if you prolong it then obviously the speed will rise, probably between 50 and 60mph.
But the bike sounds very stressed and quite frankly it gets a bit embarrassing.
 
Just change gear in future!

Ok, so I was way off- 10,000 in first is about 45, I say 'about' due to speedo variations!

My 2nd and 3rd at 4500 are pretty close though- I was running without a speedo for a few weeks as hadn't yet had time to figure out fitting the drive unit to the thundercat wheel so had to know what speed I was going for cameras!

The bike took it all in it's stride to be honest, they don't mind a bit of revving, as long as it's all under control.
