To me it looks like the bike has a blacker frame here, which looks better. Trick of the light or the Americans get a different colour.

Wins an award for bike most in need of a tail tidy, can't work out why the indicators are so far away from the rest of rear lights. Also the front would be better with LED indicators in the mirrors BUT it is well priced and the engine should be a peach so those niggles are quickly forgotten.
Still waiting for the big bang triple R1 I guess......

I was looking at the 2011 Blade the other day and that has the same rear light and bizarre spindle holding the number plate on. I'll bet it's a legal requirement.

It is a cracking price, but it looks a bit small for a larger chap. It's one of the reasons I like the Gen 1. It's big.

It features in MCN this week. No tests but a big write up. It is focused entirely on competing with street triple/Z800 sales. AND in my book Yam are doing the right thing. Its where big sales are, and they need cash with so much of its range expensive ,ageing over 1000cc bikes which , adventure bikes apart aint selling too well.Thei rprice does seem right, and let sjust watch Triumph cut their prices ...the street triple initially was only just over £5k...now its £6999 !

I have a few niggles- dont like the exhaust at all, and the frame looks ugly where it locates the top of the engine. The US model looks much better in black. Its a small tank, but it will have good mpg and these bikes are all about urban and B road action, so no need for big tank range.

All in all I reckon its well worth a look at for this sector.

I was though looking forward to a more fazer type orientated bike...maybe next year ??

It doesn't look better to me, but then I don't have an emotional attachment to it.

Just looking again at the picture and the MT does have  a passing resemblance to a v max !...the fake air scoops on side of tank are remeniscent of the big lad...

It's not too bad looking, but it's also nothing special. Not doing it for me.
