Which brake discs, front & rear?
« on: 31 March 2014, 12:17:26 pm »
I'm relatively new to the forum & biking, I've put up a couple of posts about brakes, as the brakes on my old girl ('99) have been seriously neglected by her last owner. I've got the pads, calipers & s/s hoses on the front sorted, but the discs are shot, plus the rear disc is warped, I'll be replacing the pads on the rear, along with upgrading the hoses.
So, my question is, what discs to go for?

I replaced my rear disc a while back. There's some info on it http://foc-u.co.uk/index.php/topic,6080.msg54769.html#msg54769

Thanks Dude, all food for thought, I've also been having a look at Armstrong discs, I noticed from the link you provided, that no one mentioned them, is this because of bad reviews etc?

I got Ferodo discs from M&P for the front they were £107 per disc so fairly cheap and by a reputable company. The mechanic that fitted the discs was amazed at the quality for the price, They are great so far for braking.

I got a brembo for the rear, again this has been a revelation over the old stock one.

Need to replace my front discs soon too. Been looking at the Armstrong ones and they do look good. There are definitely a couple of people on here that have them and not heard anything bad about them.

It wouldn't be fun if it was easy, I just wish it wasn't this much fun.
