Aftermarket end can for a FZ1 Fazer 2009
« on: 06 April 2013, 12:50:16 am »
Thinking about trading up as my 2002 Fazer 600 is showing its age, the only mod I ever really do is a replacement end can as I do believe that loud cans save lives.

Anyone recommend a decent end can for that model?

I've bought these for my long-gone FZS600, my current FZ1-S and VFR. British made. Good quality, fair price, quick delivery, excellent after sales service. Highly recommended.

One thing I would suggest if you are buying for the FZ1 - the link pipes for the naked and faired bikes are different (faired bike pipe has a centre stand stop welded to it). Specify when you order.

Had a fuel exhaust in my tiger 1050. The quality was very good, and it sounded really good on the triple, deep and growly, but not over loud. Good choice of can if you ask me. :D

Shorter cans look best in my opinion,so have a look at them.

I fitted a Mivv Suono to my 2008 FZ1. Looks good, shortish but quite loud even with the DB killer fitted. The noise is ok over 50 but annoyingly loud in town imho, ear plugs are a must. Crackles a bit on the overrun too, so if that's what floats yer boat try a Mivv. It went straight on with no problems. You will have to remove the exup cables of course but that's not a difficult job.

I have a Remus on my 2008 and it looks and sounds very good, nice burble on over run too.

It's a full system Budge, regard, Russ. ( see what I did there  ;) :lol )

+1 on he Mivv for noise. My gp carbon crackles and pops like a WWII spitfire, and I love it!:D

Micron full system here, hard to source now but sounds pretty good, a wee bit like Demonic Rice Krispies on the over run at times mind you...
 :D

PS.
I'm going to pop this over to the thou corner buddy, us incontinent types tend not to stray very far from the care home that is the Thou corner, you'll get a few more (sensible) responses in there.

Ta for all the above, not sure I've got the budget for a full system so it will have to be just the end can at the moment, presuming these still 'slip on' with a couple of bolts?

Will I need to adjust anything else or will the fuel injection sort itself out?

By the way dp the lights work on both sides like the foxeye 600s or are they one side dip and one side high beam?

You will also have to remove the exup valve cables as the exup valve is in the rear can on a gen2

Hi
There will be no need to do anything to the fuelling if you're only fitting an endcan.
The stubby cans look great but you may lose a little of the low & midrange.
I don't like the cheap cans like fuel etc. because due to their outdated design, ie more suited to the gen1, they look out of place on the gen2. I had a Scorpion carbon oval on mine for years before I fitted my full Akra which looked great but you have a wide range to choose from now.
