Double D-Ring Helmets
« on: 29 March 2013, 12:02:29 pm »
Guys,

Got a full face HJC helmet with the double-d ring fastener. its not my favourite mode of fastening due to FFS (Fat Finger Syndrome) and prefer the ratchet style of the Caberg helmet.

However - the Double D ring has a red pull tab on one of the double-D rings to help to loosen when taking off. Problem is - mine was pulled off

Can someone confirm WHICH ring the pull tab is fastened to - im going to replace with a velcro zip tie.

Just stick a finger under the strap and flick the ring

That always helps my problematic helmet

The bottom ring, the one against the chin strap.
Flick your ring if you really want to but I don't see how that gets your lid off  :eek

Check this out .. you can turn the Double-D system into a Happy Snappy :o)
No damage or mods to Helmet, No Tools Req to it, No Hardly Dangerous name markings  8)   Job Done in one minute.
Works really well for the Funny Fat Finger Clan .. I'm  member too  :\

Once adjusted and set this idea works OK for 'normal' speeds .. but you might want to pull you chin strap slightly tighter for 140 mph plus?

If you 'do up' the helmet when not wearing it, you will only see one ring (the other is underneath the looped back strap). It's the visible one that has the tab.
