brake /clutch levers
« on: 10 March 2013, 01:28:43 pm »
Hi, I was looking at some ally brake/clutch levers on e-bay blue coloured ( short type ) they're about £20 ( to tight for titax ) but they dont seem to have any for my fazer, does anyone out there know which levers are interchangeable on the Yamahas, p.s. I also have an original silencer and a belly pan ( bit rough but usable with a clean up all fitments included) which may be used in swap + cash if anyone has titax ones they dont want . Mods I know this should probably be split up and put on forsale/wanted/for swap etc but any dealing will be done private message and not on this thread .The basic thing I wanted to know was about the compatability of levers, cheers Steve

I won't offer any trade but I got these for my fazer - had the same dilemma :

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/300685207665?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

less than £34 with shipment - they send it with TNT from china, so i had it in around a week, customer service was actually one of the best i ever had.

Quality - they fit well, I just rounded the point of contact with the brake caliper.
They look really good but they are obviously not as detailed as £200 ones - but still they are comfortable and work well.

What do you mean by this?
And how did you get round the freight charges mentioned in the listing?

You know the small sticking out part in the brake lever - the one that does the actual work and pushes in the rubber cylinder - that part on the lever  had  sharp edges (ie they should be rounded) - I was affraid that the ruber can get damaged so i simply filed and rounded the edges a bit - took me 5 minutes. I mentioned this in my email to the seller and they said their engineers will look into it.

As to freight charges - it was a bit under £4 and shipped with TNT, I wasn't charged any extra tax for importing them.
Hope this helps - as I said they are not as good quality as the £200 ones, but for 30 quid I'm really happy with them.
