GoPro placement
« on: 17 February 2013, 06:39:03 pm »
Just wondering where you guys mount your gopro / action cams on the bike not helmet. Tried the suction mount on the screen, view was great but the vibration made it unwatchable was thinking of getting the handlebar/seat post mount and try it on the mirror stems. Any other suggestions.

I've got mine on the left side mirror - still get a little too much vibration though - see my latest video I just posted...

Tilts, that was really good. I think I'll mount mine on on my chest. Is there a bespoke harness?

yes Mickey, I would never mount one on the bike again after using the chesty, better view, secure, and no risk of marking your bike.

I've got the rollbar mount:
http://gopro.com/camera-mounts/roll-bar-mount

It's the only place I can put it - I think the handlebar mount would fit ok - but you would see too much screen.

The fork legs are too fat - I've heard that that makes a good viewpoint.

Another £35 for the chest mount... Might have to consider it - along with a spare battery.

I'm loving the chest mount but also would like to mount on the radiator or somewhere  about that area so i can film the front suspension working and maybe see the wheel skimming the ground (just a little bit)
One of the best films i've seen is Hizzy on the Isle of Man using this shot, absolutely awesome.

After hours of searching I found this. I love this shot, you can see the front suspension working. Shame it isn't a USD fork though
