New style exhausts-they look crap!

I happened to be looking at a cbr 250r on the net last night during the night shift and i cant believe how rubbish the exhaust made it look, whats the score with these new style futuristic judge dredd exhausts,


Im guessing its to do with emissions and catalytic converters but surely they could come up with better than that,


Anyone know how easy these new bikes are to just take off the can and swap with a more traditional looking can or does it that generally mess up the engine management.


Its the one thing putting me off even considering a newish bike in the future.

The new Daytonas, Speed and Street Triples have ugly exhausts. The Kwak Ninja's exhaust is extremely hideous. Will be deciding this year whether to get a Speed or Street for 2014. Secondhand or discounted will mean "extra" money to spend on a low boy or similar.
