They aren't out yet, and there's hardly any details out yet; price not known (thought to be around £16-£18k, but don't know - that's a real bum-clencher for the deposit I'll tell you), spec not yet fully know - even the dealerships don't know yet), can't get any idea of insurance as they can't quote yet. yada yada yada.

They're only supposedly making 1,000 worldwide; 150 coming to the UK. 1 coming to me.

Actually test rode an S1000rr, the first time I'll see my own bike is probably the day I pick it up (although might actually go to this years NEC show to see one).

The base version is total warp-speed nuts. Thankfully, I'm knocking on the door of 40 now, so I've learned sufficient self restraint. Surely just a coincidence about the "lose your licence" post

The world has changed since last I was this way. Have two little boys, my own company, moved to a village near Canterbury, become funny; you'd be amazed. Still skint mind, but I saw it and became a dribbling moron (alright, more of a dribbling moron). Then I test rode it's little brother, and I was hooked.

And Frazer, how much carbon is there on this bike you mention. Always a sucker for a special edition

No, not a Marco special (the only one of those I know of was the one-off Honda did for his dad following the crash).

BMW have done a couple of these before (the HP2). They are limited run High Performance versions of existing models (as if a 193bhp litre bike needed more work to gain the label "high performance). Think M Series BMW for bikes. They are effectively building 1000 of them to qualify them for use in the German superbike series.

Comes with all the fancy bits you could throw at it - electronic active suspension (never been on bikes before, monitors suspensions and makes any changes to keep it at peak performance god knows how many times per second), full titanium Akraprovic system, race brakes, lightweight race wheels, launch control, Race ABS, Race Traction Control, etc etc.

plus heated grips and a trip computer...yay!

Balistic Sex on 2 wheels.

And got the price confirmed yesterday, 'bout £17k (plus cost of tracker).
