Just spoke to my local yamaha dealers who i know well as i was in there getting oil filter, oil and sump washer (how bloody much  10_confused ) and they say the reason givi dont list wingrack fitting kits for the early fazer is that its not able to take the weight on the rear of the subframe and certainly not recommended  Not Fair
Looks like my givi wingrack and two panniers will be up for sale then  10_confused

Nah the Yamaha dealer is talking poo - I had a wingback on my 2001 square eye and loaded it with topbox and 2 panniers to the max and have ridden thousands of miles - the rear subframe on the old Fazer is steel and can take lots of weight

Not much help, but I have Givi Wingrack 2 on my 2003 Fazer. Maybe hard to find with the bike being quite old now..?

Weight wise, can't see it being a problem, the panniers and top box barely weigh half a (small) person...
