Fazer VS CBF600S
« on: 22 July 2012, 08:48:20 am »
Been teasing my friend, a Honda owner, that Honda is for pensioners, it's dull, etc...

Then, yesterday, I gave her sister my fazar for a spin. So far, the sis has been learning on the friend's CBF600s. Sis came back with a big grin and said something like: "this bike is so much better!"    Just thought I should share it. :)

The wife owns a CBF600 and I gotta say its a peach of a bike.
It maybe a bit boring/bland to ride but its got probably the best gearbox Ive ever had the pleasure to use. Its soooooo smooth.
It does everything you would expect from a Honda middleweight tourer

Rarely is any bike bulletproof unless you maintain it... Cam chain tensioners and reg/rec's spring to mind  :)

What I noticed on CBF:

Smaller tank and more fuel consumption. Adds up to 300 kms between fuel stops vs Fazer's 400 kilometres.

Harder to push, but once you start riding it, CBF feels lighter than the Fazer.

Perfect gearbox - like knife through butter.

Less power, not sounding as good. Look at it in the rearview mirror it looks like a maxi-scooter, not a real bike. Less room under seat.

Coolant is easier to approach (check/replace). No need to remove the fueltank.

Seat is comfier (less wide than Fazer's).
