TPS sensor woes….

So, my taco was giving me the 0-3000 rpm TPS sensor issue reading. I purchased a jarg one from Korea, it didn’t seem to work. I then bit the bullet and have purchased an official brand new one from yambits (£100 quid).

I have followed the instruction to put the bike into the mode for TPS calibration/adjustment but am still only getting the 0-3000 reading as if it’s not connected or it’s faulty.

The bike is a 2000 FZS600 and am now wondering what the likelihood is the instrument cluster is goosed.

Does anyone know where the connection from the sensor goes? Is it connected via the wiring loom to the instrument cluster or does it connect to somewhere else on the engine?

This is my first bike and am going through learning to maintain and fix it myself, but this is tipping me over the edge!

Any advice welcome! Thanks in advance.

Sussed it…..

The connections into the black box (excuse my ignorance, I don’t know the proper term.) underneath the rear cowling weren’t pushed in properly. Lord knows how they came loose as I haven’t touched the feckin things!

Thanks for the input guys. It’s much appreciated.
