Pod air filters

I know it's dubious but has anyone replaced the airbox with pod filters on a gen1 and it ran okay???

Question comes up fairly regularly, the general answer is it's not a good idea as you will struggle to get the fueling right. If I recall correctly the intake system is designed around the large volume of the airbox for back pressure or resonance or some such, you wont get the same effect with pods so the fueling will be off and not easily fixed.

That's zackly what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation pal. Will be keeping the airbox.

P.S. You fancy coming out to play when the weather's better - see if we can do a "making better progress" ride than the last SWB ride you came on, perhaps even go on roads without gravel & grass down the middle  :rolleyes

Yeah another ride is definitely on the cards when it's next mild and dry, I'll PM you on the SWB forum. Did you decide to keep the Fazer?
