did you ...
1:- prime the shells with oil?
2:- use a torque wrench

--pretty sure you will have but got to ask these things

Don't know about modern B/E shells but years ago they had location lugs in them that located in corresponding grooves in the con rods end halves, is it possible to put them in the wrong way round? I don't know?

All shells are in correctly and do have grooves so wouldn't be able to put themy in incorrectly

i have not done a full rebuild on the fzs but on some engines i have torqued to the manual specs and in my head they have been too loose
but the manual says what the manual says and its never gone wrong big time styly

Have you changed any of the bits over? or is it all going back with the same set of bits that came apart?

Have you been a bit liberal with the gasket sealant and glued everything together?

Why wouldn't you use a torque wrench?

Are all the bearings in their original positions, or have they got muddled up?
Like the camshaft bearing, they are machined in situ to ensure alignment. Get them swapped around and some will be too loose and some too tight.
Nipping bolts up by hand is fine in non-critical areas, but it’s important to get it right for the crankcase and major engine bolts.
Use a torque wrench.
