I really don't want to gloat but feel I must.

70k mile 10 year old bike. Exup not touched for at least 52k miles and 5 years, probably more. 2 days of of plusgas on bolts.

Bolts came off no-problems and Exup works just as in the vid and cables within operating levels.

Stroke the Fazer. :D

Mine is half welded now. And has a few screws. If the bike is nearer 10years I would not bet on screws to be undone with penetrating oil. Mine had allen head bolts that rust inside out...
when i went to remove my exup valve there was no signs of the heads of the bolts, just a small dome of metal left,it only took a couple of minutes with a dremel to get the valve out,and mine was well worn,it was easier and cheaper to buy repacement downpipes,i managed to get the complete exup valve from america for £50 posted and in as new condition,i got the cables for £15 and the downpipes cost me £90 localy,my downpipes not have only the remains of the bolts but the rear bracket has broke off

well all this talk of exups  :eek is normaly my que for poping out and giving it a service lol.

Exup serviced, chain adjusted, rear wheel cleaned and a quick chain clean = 30 mins  :D

On a side note i notice ppl still offten have issues getting the SS bolts for the exup and cover.
As i said before i normaly have a few sets knocked up ready for the BMF shows so will pop out today and grab a few sets. my sets come with all 6 bolts (3 one size and 3 the other size) and spring washers (i find it helps as you dont need to do up the bolts very tight that way) all in SS
normaly £3 a set but will see if they have changed the price since i last did it.
and YES  :rolleyes you can get them cheaper your self and NO  :rolleyes im not trying to sell them as such here. but if you want a set and cant source them yourself let me know, or just catch me at the BMF show's on the club stand

The photos of the cables and servo in this link posted by Ghostbiker certainly aren't for a gen 1 fazer.
