Bolshy Bridgestone?
« on: 17 February 2017, 02:53:50 pm »
Hi, Looking for new tyres and found good deal on ebay for pair of S20 Evo 110/70/ZR17 160/60/ZR17.

Went to Bridgestone site to check them and got message " Battleaxe S20 EVO doesn't fit your YAMAHA FZS 600 FAZER<2003"

Am I missing something or are Bridgestone saying the Fazer wont like them?

When checking what sizes s20 evo comes in on Bridgestone it only gives options of H or W speed rating , W is I think more than ZR ( probably wrong ) but it says the s20 front tyre comes in that size but not the rear so that may be why

Upon further looking it appears the FZ6 has a bigger size rear that the s20 comes in and that may be where the confusion is if the seller has put fazer 600 and then smaller font or in brackets put the the year 06 + or knowing flea bay they've not put the right details down

I think this is correct what Graham53 is saying it's the speed rating is showing H only,

Must admit I thought ZR was the top speed rating, but upon checking you're correct, W is higher. But they are both higher than 150mph.

Cheers guys will have a look:
but what is also funny is some sites have the same tyre e.g. 160 60 17 69w BT-023 and two different prices some times 15-20 quid difference?
And I thought car tyres were confusing?

Have been on all the best sites, Tyreleader, TyreTec, Opponeo and the bay the problem is every time I settle on a deal and check reviews I change my mind.

So I know Michelin PR4 is top dog but for a 59 3/4 yr old will something like Maxxis supermaxx touring or BT-023 be more than I will need?

Yes Daviee but I aint rode that much in a while,
yes it seems to be between the BT-023 and PR3 or maybe PR3 front and PR4 rear. Or is that overkill??

If you haven't rode in a while all the more reason to go for a confidence inspiring tyre!

I have Pilot Road 4's on my ZRX and they are a fantastic tyre, full of confidence.

Hey Joey = no not overkill. If you go for the PR3 front & PR4 rear then that's the best in my opinion. Gives you one less thing to worry about if you haven't ridden in a while  :thumbup
Those are my principles...if you don't like them I have others.

Oponeo has a quickly delivered price, or if you can wait a few days more it's cheaper, 'cos they bring the tyre over from Germany i think.
