Rearsets question
« on: 22 September 2016, 08:27:17 am »
I'm just wondering if there are any other bikes rearsets that will fit onto the gen2 without modification?  For example would say zx6r ones fit?
I'm after a black set purely for aesthetics and dont really wanna fork out for stupidly expensive adjustable ones or rely on cheapo chinese copies.
Ive had a nose around the usual places and there are plenty of black factory ones from other bikes but I just thought I'd see if there any particular models I could look for?
Cheers

Just a thought, but if your simply after a colour change you could probably save yourself a fair bit of money by simply having your originals powder coated or even anodised ?
I've not had anything anodised for years so not sure of costs nowadays but powder coating you should see some change out of £50 I would think, especially if you want Black as it could be done with any number of other jobs the coater is likely to be doing.

Yeah that is going to be my last resort if I can't find anything else. Ive had some stuff done at a powder coating place near me and to be honest I'd be shocked if it was more than £20 haha
Only reason that's my last resort is that I'd have to remove all the rubbers etc from the pegs then buy new ones after the powder coating so would end up being a bit of a job and them rubbers from yamaha won't be cheap either. But like I said if I haven't found anything by Xmas then I'll get them done while it's cold.

Don't suppose anyone knows if an 09-14 R1s rearsets would fit do they?

Why can you not put the rubbers back in? I did on my gen 1.

I tried the same thing on my thundercat and the rubbers were such a pain in the arse to get off that they were basically ruined by the time id dug them out with a screwdriver haha. I havent tried on the fz1 but assumed theyd be the same?
