Rear wheel mod- Help needed
« on: 12 November 2016, 12:33:25 am »
Hi-
I am planning to go trough with the front end mod this winter. Up here in Stockholm we got 40 cm of snow this week so winter is here.
I hav been trying to reach out to Devilsyam a couple of times, but with no success so far.
Anyway. My problem is as follows. In order to get the bike with the same rideheight I am considering the fork extensions. Everything is laying around waiting for me to get started. I might have an option to have these extensions machined out, but I need the exact dimensions.

When I do the mod int the front , it will look strange if I don't sort out the rear end as well. Rims and everything is sorted. Devilsyam informed me earlier of the of two spacers needed in order to get the rear wheel correctly aligned. There is aslo a need for a R6 rear caliper and hanger. Furthermore there is supposed to be some mod to the tensionbarr

Is anyone up fot giving me the dimensions for the fork extensions, the rear wheel spacers and an idea of the modifications to the tension bar. What year make for the caliper and hanger will fit.

All the best

option 1 the first time i did it but you need a custom disc

http://www.devilsyam.com/R1%20to%20Fazer%20wheel%20install.htm

option 2 r6 caliper

this way requires bit of maching to caliper hanger but means you can use r1 disc

i have done this 4 times now and every time different as i dont have a gen 1 here i cant be precise

how ever the spacers shown i do have 3 sets

as to the torsion bar in the pic you will see a small spacer when it came to fit i was unhappy with it as put a lot of load on a m8 bolt

from memory i used a bandit 600 arm that had a kink in it and made further small adjustments to fit this meant there was a proper fork fixing either side the caliper

just my rambling and apoligies for being bloody slow in digging up this info
