Clutch basket play
« on: 02 July 2016, 11:20:46 am »
Hi guys, back again with this clutch problem.

Bike was juddering when clutch was engaging at biting point when pulling away from standstill, otherwise ok.
Me and my mate changed clutch plates and pressure plate springs.... all genuine parts, the day before we left for Europe.
Problem was still there... so we had to set off anyway done 2,700 miles bike was great apart from this juddering when moving off..

Here's the question,,while we were changing clutch plates my mate said there was play in the clutch basket,he could move it quite easily back and forth..
Should there be play in the basket, if so how much,??  I phoned fowlers and there quoting £370 for new basket
I've already spent £250 on new plates and springs....

Any ideas out there..??

My mate reckons a washer to take up the play...
