valve clearancea

Hi to all,my fazer has got 44 thou on clock so reckon it time to check valve clearances and replace shims if needed.I'm very hands on and service my own bike,has anyone done this and how easy is it,is there anything on here to help with photos would be handy,or anyone close to my area that could show me how to do it.T.I.A
