Centre stand stop with replacement can
« on: 25 June 2015, 01:32:21 pm »
The centre stand stop is part is the link pipe, and I wanted to fit a replacement can and pipe, but don't want to lose the centre stand stop. Has anyone come up with a good solution to this?
I can't be the first to ask this, but couldn't find anything with a search.

SP Engineering pipes come with the stop on the link pipe.

Thats my bike in the listing. They also gave me 10% off for mentioning the forum  :lol

Not sure about other manufacturers, find one you like the look of and email them to ask if it has the stop.
People who think they know everything are a great annoyance to those of us who do.

I already have the can, a Fuel one, got from eBay for £50, and I also have some Motad downpipes which have the stop on them, I just wanted to fit the can first, so dozy commuters stand more of a chance of realising I'm there, and fit the downpipes just before the MoT next year (cos I'm tight) I just wondered if anyone had come up with a genius idea for a stop.

Mine has one on my SP Engineering exhaust.

Just an idea! what about a car U-shaped exhaust bracket of the correct diameter to go around the pipe so the stop hits one of the studs or make a fashioned metal bracket bolted to the clamp for the stop to hit?.

Bracket like this of correct diameter:

Isn't the stop fitted on the link pipe between the headers and the can? All the aftermarket ones I've seen are like this, assuming they're specific to the Fazer.
You can just buy a link pipe on its own from most manufacturers, Fuel included.
I've not seen any where the stop is fitted to the headers/downpipes, surely they're too far forward.

My Fuel one has a stop on their supplied linkpipe. Surely the downpipes (I have Motad as well) are too far forward for the stop to hit ?

I thought the tab at the rear of the Motad downpipes was for the stop, I could be wrong.
Have you got pics of the Fuel set up, the Fuel can I got from eBay came in a box, with paperwork for a CBF600, so I asked the seller who confirmed it was for a Fazer, I'm no so sure now!

The tab at the rear of the downpipes is to bolt them to the frame just forward of the right hand footpeg.

Edit - apologies, they are bolted to the footpeg itself
