Parts wanted desperately
« on: 07 June 2015, 01:11:15 pm »

Has anyone got the following.

That metal pipe at the bottom of the front of the engine which carries coolant.

The top of the oil cooler (the bit with the spigot) mounted next to the pipe mentioned above.

Ive got to get this sorted in a couple of weeks coz im off to Europe on it.

HELP!!!!!

I'm in stoke but I don't mind driving up to you if it means I can get this bike sorted. Probably next weekend unless I can get a job scheduled up there beforehand.

The pipe and the top of the oil cooler are shown in the pics below. The pipe fits into the hole in the crankcases at the front of the engine next to the oil cooler. You can see where the spigot has broken off the oil cooler in the second pic.

did you drag that bike out of a canal?

No, the bottom of a wet salt mine.

Believe it or not, this was standard winter riding, I think he just neglected the standard winter rinse off, several times, and then several more, and then threw some salt on it.

At least its better now, sprayed with Tygris bright zinc galv spray, it was the only silver I had. Just ordered some XHT silver spray for the exhaust when it arrives from Devilsyam.

Got a new oil filter, the oil is on its way (Motul 5000) as is the coolant, exhaust gaskets and S/S exhaust studs. Hopefully the knackered pipe and oil cooler top will be replaced with a good set in the next few days, got some stainless jubilee clips for the hoses, just sprayed the radiator up satin black, cleaned up the underseat area including the tool bag (both filthy). Bought a load of stainless socket cap screws and S/S Button heads to replace the rusty bolts. Think i'll spray the coolant pipe and oil cooler gold.
I love working on stuff that whatever you do, you cant make it look worse than it did before!!

Ok thanks for all the help guys. Thanks to B1K3rdude I have an oil cooler and thanks to an American Ebayer I have a really good coolant pipe winging its way across the Atlantic for £32.

Just ordered a working EXUP servo motor to replace the one that's currently fitted which makes a noise but doesn't move the pulley wheel.

So I don't need any more offers of stuff, thanks again for the help, advice and offers guys!!

Blimey! Did you say it had only done 26k? My 140k one looks better than that I've ridden it through 13 winters... I hope you get it sorted!
