show us your indicators
« on: 02 April 2015, 10:35:57 pm »
Hi all, not happy with standard indicators,  (is anyone? )
looking for a change, need to be bright and visible (obviously) I'm thinking along the lines of flush mounted on the fairing but ones I've saw so far would just go straight through the hole left by original ones, so no good :-(
Yes I have looked at busters, my&p etc but wondered how they actually looked like once on the bike.
Any recommendations?
Cheers

Think they need to be a certain distance apart.
I left mine on but added an LED tail light which also indicates as well.

Cheers Mr darrsi,  I really didn't think of that one lol
Your right, they need to be a certain distance apart but I'm thinking of trying to get fairing mounted and that will do all my requirements and keep within the law.
Looking for the sort of pear shaped that also shines to the side, hoping it should just be a matter of sticking them over the holes left by original, but I've can seal round about if needed.

I always forget about me LED strips 'cos i don't see them working, just went through the middle of the bullet connectors with the wire then plugged them back in linked to the indicators. They're good in winter/night time, especially when waiting to pull out of a side turning. :)

They do give alot of light out to the side, looks good, I've got two flat round lights that have about 8 led in them, might try just sticking them on same way you done yours darrsi

I put clear lenses on mine with orange bulbs and it looks much neater than the big orange blobs But still gives very good light.

I had this on my fz1 for 2 years with no problem on the MOT

Not exactly the brightest in harsh daylight, but still see-able. It was done as an exercise to see if it would work, and I just left it there.

There pretty sweet stevie, really neat, I guess a double strip might be brighter in daylight, but how were the seen from the side view? I know you said it passed mot, but as many have said on here about mot's, some will pass for silly things and others will fail, no consitancy across the board :-(

Got to be honest, they weren't the best from the side, or in bright sunlight.
And my MOT bloke is really old school, he said if it looks like an indicator, and flashes like one, then it is one. But as you say, they're all different.

Yeah stevie, when I went for my recent mot, guy was saying to me that he can't pass a can with it marked 'not for road use' but if that's not on it, he'll pass it, he even mentioned someone had just put a bit of tape over it and as he's not allowed to remove the tape, he had to pass it lol
