Spraying fz1 frame.
« on: 02 March 2015, 08:54:13 am »
Need to do a bit of touching up on fz1 frame where the rear hugger has vibrated the paint off. I was wondering if Simonez satin Matt Black is a decent match (devilsyam says it is) Has anyone tried sparaying it i was wondering if the paint takes ok or should look at other options for sorting it out?

I bought some paint from RS Paints and sprayed my frame and swinging arm (2008 FZ1) and then lacquered them. Paint was a perfect match. I rubbed it down gently first with some 1200 grit wet and dry and it turned out perfect.

Paint was Cob Yamaha 20918 Power Black and Matt Lacquer.
I could change my opinion, but then we'd both be wrong.

Depends on how bad it is, I would try a small area first and dab it with a very small paint brush, let it dry and see how it blends in.

Either from their website www.rsbikepaint.com or give them a ring 01707 273219.

i did a couple of 'rubbing-spots'; i used etch primer on an artists brush and then a matt black spray paint I had hanging around (I spray a little into the cap and then load the brush lightly)
