Power.........................
« on: 28 November 2014, 08:07:08 pm »
Evening Guys!!!

I have recently fitted an LED tail light to my fzs600, Since fitting it my heated gloves no longer warm up. There wired directly to my battery so I was wondering if the Tail light is drawing that much power that my gloves no longer heat up???

Anyone got any thoughts on this?

I wait in anticipation  :'(

Not sure what your problem is, but I would advise against wiring anything direct to the battery.
You WILL forget to switch them off one day and it'll flatten it.

LED tail lights pull very little power, in fact anything LED does.

Did you disconnect the battery while changing the taillight, and remember to reconnect the wiring for the gloves?  Or dislodge any crimped connectors?

Only other things i can think of other than what Jules-C has suggested is that your seat has accidentally crushed a wire on refitting, or a wire has simply broken in the circuit somewhere.
There's not really too much to them is there?

The fact you're coming straight from the battery totally rules out everything else to be honest, unless you had a dud battery but then your bike wouldn't start so it ain't that.

I handle cables all day at work and the truth is, they break, simple as. I know 'cos i'm one of the people who has to fix them.  :\
If it's not the cables then i guess the only other culprit must be faulty gloves, which i s'pose would still make it a wiring problem somewhere.
