Brake fluid leak from reservoir
« on: 10 October 2014, 04:28:09 pm »
Hi foccers

I've Got brake fluid coming out of the reservoir when braking. Just fitted new pads and was going to bleed them anyway. Its not much, just a trickle...anybody experienced this. I can't tighten the top any more or the screws will round off.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

Cheers

You've obviously got too much in there then, very carefully take a bit out, or as you say bleed them anyway but leave space for the rubber part to sit under the lid.

Thanks for the reply darssi...you were right, there was the same amount in the reservoir but the pads I took off were totally worn. With the new pads being thicker obviously meant that there was nowwhere for the remaining fluid to go and it came out the top. I've now bled the brakes and seems okay. Thanks again.
