No point in constantly abbreviating unless you explain what it means?
What's an RMV?

you what!? if you has a scottoiler then you'd know - and as I asked for help from someone who owns a scottoiler it stands to reason that you would therefore know what a RMV is  ;)

anyway mate, for your eduction  :lol - Remote Metering Valve , to use scottoilers vernacular . Its where you store the oil and has a pump builtin that works from the vacuum offa the carb. the idea is that the vacuum holds the valve open allowing oil to flow and gravity does its job in getting oil to the nib above the chain

Oh, that RMV.........
I have one and I didn't know.
Don't suppose you (stab in the dark question) you're 'skill' is more electronics than mechanics is it?

Leave it on prime and give it time

Electronics..?? There are no electronics with this, just vacuum and gravity. And if there were then I probably would need more help on these forums..I don't do many electrical jobs but happy to learn, but don't worry, no electronics on this, thought you said you had one??

BTW , RMV is in the manuals so I guess you didn't read these then :lol

I could've dug the instructions out for this thread but couldn't be arsed and as I play to the FFF rule I afforded no space for RMV in my LTM.  TBH I'm not entirely sure it even got a foot in my STM :)
