Tyres going blue
« on: 26 July 2014, 11:20:28 pm »
Today I was prepping the bike for a ride tomorrow and noticed my tyres, both front and rear, are going blue.

They are both BT021, the front is a few months old and the rear is about 3 years old.

I only ever road ride, but my last ride was a rally which involved about 20x 30mile trips with a 10-20minute gap between each one, so lots of heat cycles.

Should i be concerned, it's only on the 1/4 each side of the tyre if that makes sense, so the middle of the tyre is fine.

Pressure wise, I'm running 35front, 40rear (cold) as per a thread I found on this forum by Bridgestone and tbh I'm really happy with the feel of the bike at those pressures, which surprised me as I thought they were a bit high when I read the thread initially.

perfectly safe and fine, as above its just from the heat cycles, ever time you ride a distance let them get hot then cool then hot again they will turn blue, just ride the colour out of them!
