Weather is still not the worst up here VNA. I rode to work today in just my jacket (all vents open), some normal jeans, summer gloves and my boots.

I agree, riding in jeans is not without it's risks, but I find riding in full regalia in heat to be so distracting it's dangerous in itself, so for me I feel safer in jeans. Obviously i adjust my riding style a little when in normal clothes, but it's a risk I'm willing to take - even after previously been flung up the road with jeans on and feeling the aftermath!

Just seen a visor down post on this in another forum...it all gets a bit nasty sometimes. Makes you appreciate forums like this and the people who use it.
The thing is we are all doin our own thing, riding our own bikes, wearing whatever we want to wear...the one thing that unites us all is a love of bikes, nothing should get in the way of that, I honestly don't see the point of any acrimony over it. Ride safe fellers, whatever you wear..

The European Commission has recently launched a proposal for a Regulation on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). FEMA insists that the use of personal protective equipment should always be optional for the rider.

Yeah, and what's next? You must wear thick gloves for gardening, or face fines and imprisonment? You must do a training course to use a ladder at home when decorating? What about those cooker hobs? Will they ban deep fat frying? No more perfect chips at home?

Talk about a nannying state; will we all have to have a personal supervisor wherever we go?

And those ambulances - they could run people over!  :eek
