Decent Topbox Alternative To Givi etc
« on: 03 July 2014, 09:41:06 pm »
Hiya fellas,

As per title again - looking for a decent topbox with plate which has proven to be waterproof and of a decent build quality but without the sodding high prices of the likes of Givi.

Any suggestions and experiences welcome. Looking for one about the 400 Litre size give or take some.

Cheers in advance fellas  :thumbup

People told me Nonfango was alright for the money. I dont have any first hand experience as I just bought a Givi direct from Italy. Including postage this cost me 33% less than Uk prices. How much are you trying to save?

Have a look at kappa stuff - is givi, but on a budget. Never seen it myself, but have heard good things

Check out the renntech ones on eBay.  I have one on mine that came with the bike. I ride all through winter and it's great, waterproof, large enough, strong etc I think they are about £30 new. Mine is scuffed on one side as I bought the bike as a cat c write off so they are pretty durable as it isn't broke etc a quick touch up with wire wool and it looks unmarked :)

Actually after looking on eBay the renntech ones seem to have had a price hike.  Either way they are just a rebadged generic Box. This one is the same as mine and even has the recess where mine has a renntec sticker.  eBay: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=400489525952&alt=web

Nonfango were good.  But they went bust I think.  I have one on my Fazer.

Here's a goo 400 Litre box, though I'm not sure how you'll get it on your bike.

Givi kit isn't cheap for a reason - it's extremely good.  In the long run it is economical because it lasts forever and you can transfer it when you change bikes just by getting the relevant fitting kit for your new machine.
If you want to keep the cost down look for used Givi kit on somewhere like Ebay.  You can't beat it.

:lol :lol :lol Asked for that one fella !

Cheers for the advice fellas, will have a look at the ones you suggested. Got a small 270 odd litre Givi fitted at moment on the Tiger and need bigger. Got a 450 Givi on the Fazer so admit yup...good quality - it's just the shekels need to be right.

Cheers again.
