Clutch basket help please
« on: 29 May 2014, 08:32:44 pm »
On my clutch basket one of the bolts that secure the front friction plate onto the basket has sheared off (broken the cast socket it bolts into) am I still able to run the bike with the remaining 5 bolts and springs in or would it be advisable to get another basket as they are quite hard to come by now?? Help please

Try sending Deefer666 a PM, I believe he has a few in his workshop.

Welcome to FOC-U, by the way!  :)

Replace it. You'll get one from a scrap yard easily. The bolts are tightened to 8Nm if I remember correctly. DO NOT over tighten them and remember to seat the plate properly before you do anything. If its not seated right, the same thing will happen again.
