So, managed to blag a Fazer Thou blue spot rear brake caliper (along with pads, hose, mounting bracket, master cylinder and reservoir).  I've got a funny brake bleeding tube with ball bearing, but I've not actually done brakes before. Anyone local up for a bit of fettling and helping me fit it? (in exchange for some beers of course).

All sorted now, found a mate who knew bike brake stuff. Cleaned up new caliper with spot of dot4 and toothbrush. Ground and filed down mounting bracket on a couple of spots. Bit of kids paint on top of caliper helped to pinpoint exactly which points on the bracket needed more filing. Got a bit unstuck bleed the new caliper, turned out to be the bit of black rubber in the reservoir was actually supposed to have come out with lid... Doh! Ended up sucking it right down and stopped us pumping anything through for ages. That and two duff one-way bleeding pipes off ebay leaking air, caused us to revert to old school with pipe in bottle of fluid method. Ended up taking most of afternoon, but all sorted in the end. Seems like loads of grab now, will have proper test ride tomorrow to double everything.

Yes but is the rear caliper a floating one or is it fixed, and pushes to one side,so one side HAS to be nearer to the disk?

Good call on washers, hadn't actually noticed it was a spot out. Just popped calipers off and yeah left piston was definitely out more.

Just hope washers I've found in bits box weren't too fat and now gone too far other way!
