I quite fancy taking in maybe the Barry Sheene and Oliver's Mount at Scarborough this year:

Maybe have a ride down, stay for a bit watch etc. However, this is all new to me. Can somebody tell me if it's easy enough to get somewhere good, for free, to see some of the action?

Been a few times to Scarborough but not for a few years. You can't really see anything for free, you have to pay to get into the circuit.

And it's well worth a trip down, hightower, and paying to get in. You too can stand less than ten feet away from the likes of Guy Martin giving it the berries, be similar distance from a litre superbike "getting air" at way over 100mph, to land on a track (at a guess) less than 10 feet wide, with trees on either side. If you buy your tickets in advance, you can get in the paddock as well. Oh, and don't forget the hairpin at the East end of the circuit, Bikes braking from 100+ to walking pace to get round what must be the tightest corner in racing - listen to that front tyre howling in protest...

It's a great day out - I'll check dates, and may well have a look down again.
