Good deeds
« on: 24 December 2011, 07:08:40 am »
My girlfriend and I have just given a nice new home to 4 ex battery hens. We were going to buy some point of lay poults but after seeing an advert about the battery hens we thought it only right to give them a new home. They have lost a lot of their feathers but they will come back in after a few weeks. And of course, lovely fresh eggs will be a bonus.
What good deeds have you recently done or have planned for the new year ?

Our good deeds for the day include helping the local pub weather the current financial climate and warming up a chilly looking chicken (it was in the freezer in curry form).

I don't think my job in London will last too long next year if we go into recession and I think it's going to be depressing living n the UK for a while, so my plan is to go back to Thailand and learn how to teach English (TEFL) and then move on to Cambodia and/or Burma -depending on how that country becomes accessable. I'll have to live with little money, like a rat, but it's a good time to help these countries as their economies improve.

No good deeds here (I've been ill!) but I used to lodge with a mate who looked after his parents hens for 3 weeks. I had to get up at 5.30-6AM every morning to let them out of their coop as they were directly under my bedroom window & ignoring them wasn't an option.  :z :eek

My brother paid me a visit whilst the hens were roaming the garden so I got him to throw some feed down for them. He was on leave from a stint in Afghanistan so very much the butch soldier type. Whilst throwing the feed down with a silly grin on his face, one of the hens flew up to help themselves as he obviously wasn't throwing it down fast enough. He threw the whole lot up in the air, yelled, shat his pants, turned & ran back in the house. You have no idea how hard I laughed.  :rollin

ok, my good deed went like this, tuesday go shopping in town, see a guy (without big issue) asking for money for food and a hot drink, walk past, go into Gregs bakers, buy 2 sausage rolls and a large soup, come out to find he has gone, throw soup away as dont like it, eat one sausage roll, take other home, which gets thrown away, spend all day wednesday/thursday in bed with stomach ache/shits/sick - so dont anyone else ask me for a good deed as it aint going to happen.

ps, when i told my son, he says yeah mum i know the guy, we see him get in his car some nights when he packs up begging  FF'SAKE i must be a bigger mug than i thought

There was one of those in Southport, someone followed him from his spot in front of Debanhams to a posh car which was driven to a large house in the `footballers area` of Birkdale..... :evil
