Centre Stand Rubber
« on: 16 April 2014, 01:51:16 pm »
Afternoon all!
I have finally managed to refit my centre stand after it was repair/resprayed.  Unfortunately during my first attempt to get it back on I ended up snapping the rubber the protects the exhaust from the stand.  Does anyone know where I can get a replacement one from?
Also now the stand is there its time to give it a good clean as the rear end in particular is really greased up.  What are recommended products for getting rid of all the greae round there and getting the chain/sprockets cleaned?

I use gunk engine degreaser. It's probably just kerosene in a posh tin anyway.::)
Stop polishing it and ride the bloody thing!!

10 quid for a piece of rubber is a bit steep, i think I'll look at the door stop option too! :D
Thanks for the degresing advice, hopefully with the long weekend I'll get to spend some time on it get it in a state so I can think about posting pictures.  I had a plan on working on it over winter to get everything clean and a few jobs on it done but before I know it the weather is too good to not go out riding!!

Seems I have 2 stops for the centrestand and both fitted  :b ... I believe Kerosene is known as Paraffin round these parts  ;)
Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it..
