Pretty much yes. If you rotate the wheel by hand look for movement on the spring ends (red arrows)

Cheers Tony, i'll give that a try, thanks for the pic.




It is quite a pronounced noise though, i'd be surprised it was that unless under tension or allot of impact but hey who knows noises are strange things to figure out.
