Still unsure about its face but in general seems quite a smart bike

I wonder how they are comparing this with the MT-09 - different engine, power and price, but still...

its hard not to immediately draw comparisons between the two bikes, isnt it? I think the price alone will set the two apart. the MT-07 seems very keenly priced to me.

was looking at one at the show yesterday and i know its alot of bike for the money but to me it looks and feels like a cheap bike.

Is Yamaha maybe feeling a bit threatened by some of the new Chinese bikes? Remembering, of course, that we're just one of their markets...

That's the whole point, it is a cheap bike - commuter/first big bike!

I agree, its an interesting bike and their marketing is aimed squarely at teens to early 20's which I think is perfect considering it appeals to me a lot... unfortunately, teens and early 20's often don't have £5-6k :|

I wouldn't ever consider buying one (not now at least, maybe in a decade or two if its cheap and there isn't a better option haha) but I would like to try them out - perhaps the MT-09 over the MT-07 as its a bit more unique (the engine mostly)

It also sits well with the new A2 license requirements. Cheap commuter/first bike that comes in at 74bhp means it can easily be restricted, as well as not being so expensive it breaks the bank.

The stats on paper still are not as good as a fazer MK1 or 2 for me and is that bloke masive because he makes it look like a 125.
Some one has got to come up with somthing good to prise my fazer from my tightly clenched fists (and buttocks ! )
The only other bike I have thought about is a speed or street tripple but for how much extra it will cost me and for how often I get to ride it not worth it.
They made the fazer far too good.

It's not a Fazer killer in my opinion and a stats sheet only tells half the story. Would need to actually ride the bike for a fair amount to be able to arrive at a fair, but personal, assessment.

I have no interest in replacing my Fazer, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't want to have a go

Yeah, that's what I was going to mention in a previous post as its one of the things that stops me - especially this time of year

Granted I haven't checked the Terms & Conditions of any local dealers to me, but I imagine they are all the same. I've never actually had to ever deal with a dealer... all my purchases have been private

I totally agree, especially when there is no real consideration of buying the bike so its not like I have any money lying around should something go wrong...

I would be much happier (if I was serious about buying on ) if I had to pay a £20 non refundable insurance to cover their £500 that is refunded IF i buy one.

I think of a first new big bike the MT-07 would be fantastic. MCN even praised it highly in their rag last week. If I had to get a bike for a commuter I'd consider it.

I wouldn't be suprised if that £500 deposit was to put people off why just want a go on it to see what its like without any intention of buying the bike. Most people have a excess on their own insurance, for a newer rider it would be at least £500 to keep the premium down. They dont provide free demos for people to get their kicks do they?

So that's a NON refundable fee that IS refunded

I think the bike looks great but the parallel twin puts me off a bit as it's my least favorite configuration apart from a single
