front fork swap
« on: 18 October 2013, 02:55:17 pm »
Hi foccers,

Looking for some advice on a front fork swap for my 2001 fazer. Going through an insurnace claim atm for a blind t&$t who reversed into me and wondering how easily/cheaply I could repair the damage myself.

Which forks can I put in without too much hassle? Does it have to be another fazer '01?

Whilst we're at it, any advice on where to get new front fairing and mudguards?

Ta!

98/99 forks don't have adjusters on top but other than that i think they're pretty much the same deal.
I've got older forks on my 00 bike, oil levels are different that's all.
Don't think it's cheap to repair them, keep a look out for a used pair, or whatever you need?

Depends on how bent they are as to whether they are repairable, but even then I doubt it could be done at home

Darrsi is correct that all Fazer 600 forks will fit all models - the difference is just the internals in the later models as they have adjustable pre-load :)

If you're interested (PM me) I have a pair of the later ones for sale with preload adjustment. In good condition. £145 including P&P if you want them. Can email you some photos if you want.

If you have all of the plastic parts I can pretty much plastic weld anything back together, plus I have several Foxeye Fairings on the shelf at the moment, I may even have a mudguard somewhere
