Plastic Welding / Engine Body filler
« on: 05 February 2014, 12:36:11 pm »
So my Fazer has had one hell of a year. One off on ice, one on diesel and it got knocked off it's side stand last night from high winds :(.

So the damage is:
2 Large cracks on the front fairing
2 scuffs on the engine, one on the stator cover, and one on the other side.
  Exhaust scuffs and scrapes.

So I have a couple of questions. Do we know what kind of plastic the front fairing on a Fazer is? I'm assuming ABS but it's best to be sure before I attempt any welding.
And do you guys reckon it'd be safe to use bondo or some kind of body filler on the scuffs on the engine covers, then a respray?

Oh and one last question.. How much do you guys reckon it'd cost to get the front fairing resprayed?

Cheers!

Thanks for the help. Still curious as to whether body filler will be ok to use on the engine casing though :P

I'll think about contacting deefer666 when I have some cash, but I'm thinking about either vinyl wrap or hydro transfers at the moment, should be able to DIY it fairly cheap.
(And hydro transfers look damn cool)
