Exhaust valve
« on: 29 July 2013, 08:41:28 am »
Hi I have just purchased a 2006 FZ1, love the bike. The bike has a Akropovic exhaust fitted and came with the original Yamaha exhaust. I noticed that the original has an exhaust power valve, while the Akropovic does not, does this effect the bike ?

Cheers Bubs :eek

The valve is there for noise regs. Better off without it!

Does your bike pop and fart a lot when you shut the throttle? If so that's what the exhaust valve stops.

and if it doesn't pop and burble on the overrun, take it back and tell them there is something wrong with it!

It sounds wicked on the overrun, so all good,  on my old FSZ1000 the exup was before the can fitment, the OE on the FZ1 is part of the exhaust, I'm happy as it is now,
Cheers for the replies  :) :)
