Fazer 600 Carb Sync - Problem
« on: 24 May 2013, 10:39:21 pm »
Hello everyone. I tried to balance my carbs today on my 2003 faxer. Its done 6000miles now. I adjusted carbs 1-4 but just couldn't adjust cylinder 2. The guage is lower than the rest. I tried another guage on it just incase the guage was faulty but its not and I got the same reading. I have also checked the carb rubbers. They are like new.. I am at  a loss. Please help me!!

A couple of possibilities:
The adjuster mechanism may have a problem i.e. the butterflies for 1 and 2 are effectively locked together. But if this was the case you'd have noticed the vacuum for #2 alter as the centre adjuster was moved.
Something other than the butterfly is causing an obstruction in carb 2... perhaps you can take a peek at the intake through the airbox if you have a dental mirror.

Have you taken the rubber hose off the gauge and tried blowing through it to check it's not blocked? While it's off, pull the hose off one of the other gauges and connect it to number two to check the gauge is working.

I stuck some red ex in it and took it for a run then I put my mates digital gauges in it and it was fine. 2 wasn't showing low at all

you have the same gauges as me  ;)  there is a small screw beneath the glass on all the gauges to adjust the needle, now you know your bike is ok,connect them up again and adjust gauge 2 to match the others  :) ........calibrated gauges  ;)
