My choke is stiff.
« on: 28 January 2013, 10:14:20 am »
Went to the bike this morning and put the choke and I had to put effort into to it. It's been fine up until today. Any suggestions?

How cold was it? Could be water in the cable that has frozen.

Probably a bit of water and other crud in the cables. Lubricate the handlebar mechanism with oil (not wd 40 etc!) and lube the lining of the cable sleeve :)

What lube should I use? I was tempted to but some WD40 on it but I didn't because it was close the my inlet rubbers and WD40 doesn't agree with rubber (so I have been told)

3-in-1 oil works well :) Just use it sparingly or you will get lots of dirt etc sticking to where its applied.

Its a good idea to apply wd-40 first to drive any water or grit away.
