Anyone got a set and what do you think?

They are having a stand at the London Bike Show and I'm interested in buying the jacket and trousers.

Anyone else going BTW?

I've got their Venom Jacket and Jeans, made to measure, made to my spec.

Bear in mind if you go for made to measure, I think they make most of the made to measure stuff for racers, I was glad I kept saying "are you sure - maybe add another half inch or so on eh"  and "I want to get thermals and fleece under here at times too"

If you are after nice lightweight summer leathers, well forget it, or at least keep all the stretch panels etc.  I dumped all the stretch panels bar the one behind the knees.  I live in the west of Scotland, it rains a lot, I don't care for perforated leather or stretch panels.

Mine took a certain amount of breaking in, like I say the leather is heavy duty.  There was a velcro fastening on the inside thigh, what it was there for I don't know, other than it rubbed on my skin just about drawing blood.  A few minutes with a needle and thread and the problem was sorted.   Think I ordered em at the Scottish Bike Show in early 2009.  As long as I don't get too much fatter, they should last me forever and a day.

Downside is, like that other manufacturer of good kit - Altberg (boots) - which I also have, some have said customer service is not the best if you are unlucky to have an issue.

But what I got is exactly what I asked for - though I panicked when they arrived as I couldn't get em on but that's just cos the leather is so thick and also stiff from new - and for the price the quality is second to none.  You can pay 2 or 3 times as much for cool Italian designer kit that ain't a patch on this stuff.   So assuming quality is as it was in 2009 they are highly recommended.

But I have to say in the rare event of a heat wave up here, I ditch the troosers, the stuff is, well for leather, warm.

Sounds just like what I'm looking for,,,,,, thanks!

I tried Altberg boots before but probably need them made to measure as well, couldn't get my ankle through them and when I went 2 sizes bigger I couldn't get the bloody zip done up. These were the Roadrunners and I'm still determined to but some that fit!

Call me old fashioned, I like the thought of British Quality, bespoke manufacturing and keeping our industry going and working.

(mmm, so I bought a Japanese bike then?)

I think it was about 550 quid for jeans and jacket.  Amazing value for top quality made to measure.  You have to wait for them to be tooled up to do a run of that jacket or the troosers.  I think my order took about ten weeks, I did phone a couple of times as I wondered if they had forgotten aboot me.

I do wish the inside pocket was a bit bigger, but can just about stuff my wallet and smart phone in there.  But really they are fab for the money, plus they look good too.

I think it was 10 or 15% extra if you wanted made to measure.  I find it hard to get stuff that fits.  Plus you can spec em as you want, choose your lining, dump the stupid knee slider velcro bits and stuff.

Go for them, very good kit. Mine are at least 5 years old, still good as new.

I have the Venom jeans and jacket.  They are extremely well made and comfortable and I rate them highly.  They are certainly not what you would describe as lightweight and they are too warm for hot summer days - although I have air-flow summer kit for the warmer days so that's fine by me.  You won't regret buying a set.
