I have a 1050 speedy and yes it's fun bike does handle very well and is torquey as well, I rode my m8 gen 1 fazer 1000 and wished the speedy had the half fairing and a longer seat unit they it would be one of the best jack of all trades bike out there I love the triple engine so I'm going to be replacing my speedy soon with a last of the gen 1's fazer 1000 as I need a bike with pillion space and the fazer seems to be the best bike to replace my speedy with  :'(

the new tiger sport looks very good, better than the 1000 ? could be a inbetweener from the 1000 and speed modern etc starting to think along these lines other than the street r myself.

Give it a couple years and Yamaha will have made their cross plane crank triple engine, put in in a sportsbike, and then taken it out and stuck it in a Fazer-esque machine. Voila, triple engined fazer :)

I think thats a fair way off as they didn't bother putting the present cross plane crank'd motor in a fazer the thing is each cross planed motor is hand built and is very expensive hence why they didn't bother their arses.... :rolleyes so can't see the cross planed triple making it either....

I have owned four triple engined triumphs and I love them.....I still have a 1999 955i speed triple that is making way for my gen 1 fazer that I was to have picked up tomorrow but not now because of the snow!!  :'(

I love the torque of the engine but the earlier engined triples are a bit agricultural compared to a modern four and are very mechanically noisy! but the exhaust note is second only to a big 'V' twin!

Hopefully I will pick it up next Saturday...weather permitting!!!!

LOVELY, I like a lot. There's one round here, looks and sounds the nuts.

Had a couple of Aprilias myself, great bikes, don't believe all the horror stories, as solid as a Honda!
I absolutely love it. Only one warranty issue so far. The headlights misted up, so got replacements. Only other issues were plank for a seat, which i am replacing with genuine aprilia gel seat and slightly jerky throttle, which was sorted by disconnecting exhaust valve cables. The exhaust valve remains closed till 5500 rpm, then opens. It is purely for noise regs. Disconnecting the cables leaves the valve in the fully open position and smooths the throttle at low revs.
