motorcycle rules and vintage bikes
« on: 17 December 2012, 06:06:00 am »
does anyone know what laws and regs apply to a 1959 motorcycle - particularly in relation to the exhaust requirements ?
I can find the info on modern bikes but was wondering what applied to the older MOT exempt bikes - I am currently riding one with no silencer and would like to know my facts if stopped by a copper younger than the bike  (which is most of them!)

As long as Its road legal, ie tire tread is ok, tank not  held on by string etc I shouldnt think you have a lot to worry about. Plod tend not to bother too much with old classics as the owners are usually older people who look after them.
