Full fairing removal?
« on: 23 November 2012, 12:49:57 am »
So,

I have a fully fairedFZ1.
Tried toremove the fairing to replace air filter. Gve up once I realised that I would have o remove so many screws and then the indicators also need to come offf to move the fairing.

Anyone know better? Think it is running lean at low revs but once its revving it is fine.

The FZ1 guys will know this better but air filter on the Gen 2 lives under the tank.  IIRC, to remove tank you must take out the fairing inserts but that should be enough.  I don't think you need to remove the lower fairing and the last time I took the tank off one of these, I didn't remove the top fairing, either.

I was hoping it would be simple.
I thought remove the black plastic sides either side of head stock. Then remove piece of plastic at the top of tank and then up comes tank.

But no, That is attached to the sides. The sides are attached to the full fairing and I cant get fingers in to open the screws. Why so much work?
