pinlock insert: how did i manage to ride without one!!!!!!
« on: 08 November 2012, 05:28:21 pm »
I know this won't be news to a lot of people. But have just fitted my first clear insert and it is bloody marvelous !!!!
Not only has it TOTALLY  stopped fogging but has also reduced glare and the starburst effect of oncoming lights
I don't usually recommend products but these are a must have for anyone riding this time of year.
£18 inc postage from racevisors if you have a pinlock ready visor. Even worth £40 for a replacement visor if you don't have pinlock  ready.

Might have to try one of these.  Got a pinlock ready visor and I always have to open it if I'm stationary for more than a couple of seconds.

I have used pinlock for years and they are fantastic but a nightmare to clean. Touch the insert with anything and they scratch  :(
This year I bought a Protec tint sun reflective pinlock insert for my Shoei XR1100. Clear normally but tints with the sun. Has been really good and a great addition in the low sun.

I had the fog city inserts for a few years but they are permanent. The Pinlock i've now got is brilliant too?

A big  :thumbup  from me.  LOVE pinlock.  Loving the sound of the tinting one that changes with the light, where is best to buy one?

I wear glasses and I've never had the visor fog, only my glasses, but the Shoei ventilation clears them rapdily enough :-) :woot

They do a diy kit for about £20 if your visor is not pinlock ready or not designed for pinlock (bit scary drilling through a perfectly servicable visor!)

I've got a HJC FG15 and like the idea of a pin lock visor, does anyone have any suggestions of a good place to buy one from. Don't just say a shop as I know that bit :lol .

Cheers
